Bali Recovery Group

 

Bali Recovery Group is the coordination committee composed of the major NGO's working to help the victims of the Bali bomb blast on 12 October. The objective of the group is to coordinate activities between the organizations in order to deliver the best services and minimize duplication of effort.
As most of the Western victims have already been evacuated to other countries, the primary focus of relief efforts is to assist the effected Indonesians. This includes the injured and their families, families of the dead and missing, and those economically impacted by loss of their livelihood.

Bali Recovery Group does not collect funds itself. Potential donors should contact the individual members who fit their sponsorship profile.

While each member organization may be involved in several aspects of the disaster relief, the Group has designated certain organizations to take the lead in certain areas. These designations are indicated in the list below.

Bali Hati is a social service organization that has been active in Bali for about 8 years. Bali Hati is the primary organization on the ground working to aid the injured and families of the injured, dead and missing. They are paying for medicines, food and any other daily needs. Bali Hati is working closely with both Parum Samigita and Yayasan Ibu Peduli (below) to identify those in need and get aid to them.

BIWA is a long standing community services organization in Bali that specializes is support of children's education and orphanages. BIWA is looking after the educational needs of the children of the victims.

IMC is an international medical aid organization with a long stand presence in Indonesia. During the crisis, IMC has taken the lead in providing trauma counseling. In addition they are handling the administration of the Bali Recovery Group.
